FLORA, Ill. — Authorities in Clay County are investigating the discovery of a woman found dead Monday in a vehicle at a lake in Flora.

According to the Clay County Coroner’s Office, they responded Monday to the southwest portion of the lake at Charley Brown Park in Flora where they pronounced 59-year-old Gayla Jones Glowacki, of Louisville, dead at the scene.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of Glowacki’s death.

Flora Police, Clay County Sheriff’s Officials, Clay County Ambulance, the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Clay County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.
