EAST ST. LOUIS — A Tuesday federal jury trial setting for a 31-year-old Centralia woman has been vacated after her defense advised the court she would be changing her plea in the case.

Ricosha Young was arrested in 2021 on a two-count federal indictment that also charged her brother Ricardo Little.

According to court records, Young arranged for people to purchase drugs from her brother. But on one occasion the buyer happened to be a confidential source working with law enforcement.

Warrants were subsequently issued for Young and Little’s arrests. Little pleaded guilty in April of knowingly distributing 50 grams of methamphetamine ice in Centralia.

He’s facing between 5 and 40 years in federal prison. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday.

Young is now scheduled for a plea hearing in her case on September 5. If an agreement isn’t reached by that day, a jury trial has been set for September 12.
