CENTRALIA — Centralia police arrested a 35-year-old homeless man Friday morning when officers allegedly interrupted a burglary in progress.

Michael Lutz was arrested on charges of burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Centralia police responded to the home around 8:30 Friday morning, when the homeowner reported returning home to discover the home’s front door had been ripped off the hinges and the glass in the door was broken.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found Lutz inside, and next to him was a bow, arrows, and one arrow notched in the bow.

He apparently did not reach for the weapon but was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
