WASHINGTON, D.C. – The City of Centralia is slated to receive $1 million in federal funding toward its water treatment plant project.
The funding is part of $3 million the U.S. House of Representatives approved Friday for interior programs and public health and safety.
Congressman Mike Bost, a Murphysboro Republican, helped secure the $3 million in funding for water treatment and sanitation projects in Centralia, Dietrich, and Teutopolis.
Bost says the projects are important steps forward for the many thousands of rural Southern Illinoisans who rely on these facilities for public health and sanitation.
