CLINTON COUNTY — A 41-year-old Carlyle man pleaded guilty Monday in Clinton County Court to four of five high-level felony drug charges against him.

Lance Hellige was arrested in February of this year and charged with three Class X felonies for delivery of between 100 and 400 grams of methamphetamine, trafficking of meth, and possession of between 100 and 400 grams of meth, as well as Class 1 felony delivery of between 1 and 15 grams of fentanyl, and Class 4 possession of a controlled substance.

On Monday, Hellige filed an open plea of guilty to Counts three and five, charging him with Class 1 felony delivery of between 1 and 15 grams of fentanyl and Class X felony trafficking of meth.

An open plea does not come with a sentencing agreement. However, per the plea agreement, the other three charges against Hellige were dismissed. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on January 5.

He was arrested with 42-year-old Paula Warden following a traffic stop. She’s scheduled for a January 16 jury trial on her charges.
