MARION COUNTY — Judge Mark Stedelin ordered a 26-year-old Salem man held in the Marion County Jail without bail Wednesday on charges alleging he took police on a high-speed chase Christmas Eve in a stolen vehicle.

Edward L. Kinney was free at the time of his arrest on other charges in Marion County Court accusing him of possessing a stolen vehicle, burglary, and possession of methamphetamine.

His pretrial release in that case was revoked Wednesday and he was ordered to remain in the Marion County Jail.

Kinney is next scheduled to appear in Marion County Court January 18 on multiple criminal cases.
