MARION COUNTY — A two-day jury trial was confirmed Thursday in Marion County Court for a 28-year-old Centralia man accused of sexually assaulting juvenile residents of One Hope United where he had been employed.
Trevor Gyorkos is facing two Class 1 felony counts of criminal sexual assault of a person between the ages of 13 and 17 under his supervision.
The October 2023 arrest stemmed from a report One Hope United made to the Department of Children and Family Services regarding a 16-year-old resident who claimed they had been sexually assaulted by a staff member.
The juvenile resident was interviewed by the Amy Center in Mt. Vernon where Gyorkos was named as a person of interest in the case.
In court Thursday, all parties agreed they were prepared for a two-day jury trial scheduled to begin January 9.
A final pretrial hearing will be held Tuesday.
