CHICAGO — Former President Donald Trump faces a formal challenge to his candidacy on the Illinois Republican primary ballot.

Capitol News Illinois News is reporting five registered voters from both major parties joined in a challenge filed today in Chicago, claiming Trump should be disqualified from the ballot under the 14th amendment that bars people who have ever taken part in an insurrection from holding federal office.
