Diane Huston Lowery, 80, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 3:52 pm July 22, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born April 21, 1944 in Lagrange, Georgia to the late D.L. and Albia Ponnie (Bledsoe) Huston. Diane married Richard “Dick” Lowery on October 12, 1963 at East Salem Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

In addition to her beloved husband of sixty years, Diane is survived by her son, Todd Lowery of Wayne City; daughter, Regina Gail “Gina” Lowery of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Gregory and wife, Jessica of Mount Vernon, Brittney Vietta and husband, Kyle of Bloomington, Jake Gregory and wife, Amanda of Mount Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Alaina, Cooper, Kase, and Lane Gregory and Wrighley and Daisy Vietti.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Melissa Lowery.

Diane worked in several different aspects of the medical field. She worked in the X-Ray Lab, Anesthesiologist Technician, and in a medical office. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and was known as grandma, a comforter and an encourager to everyone she met. Dian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A Visitation will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 10:30 am at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Russell Gaston officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Diane’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
