METROPOLIS – A semi ran off westbound I-24 onto an unoccupied parked car on Country Club Road in Metropolis around 5:10 a.m. Friday.
Illinois State Police say the semi ran off of the roadway to the right, struck the car, and several feet of guardrail. It then proceeded off the roadway down an embankment, coming to rest on the north side of Country Club Road. No injuries were reported.
Both lanes of Country Club Road were blocked for an hour. One lane was then reopened while one remains closed, at this time, for semi recovery and scene clean up. No lanes of I-24 were blocked.
ISP says no additional information is available at this time.

METROPOLIS – A semi ran off of I-24 and crashed onto Country Club Road in Metropolis around 5 a.m. Friday.
Our sister station, WMOK, is reporting that Massac County Dispatch said there appeared to be no injuries. However, cleanup would take a few hours. Traffic was rerouted. The driver received no serious injuries.
