MARION – Marion Police are looking for a man possibly involved in a Monday night shooting in the 1800 block of North State Street.

Police received a 911 call just before 8:10 p.m. regarding the shooting and that someone had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found a male subject with several gunshot wounds. They immediately began rendering aid to the victim while at the same time conducting a protective sweep of the area and canvassing for suspects.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

This incident is considered isolated; however, Marion Police have identified a subject wanted for questioning. It’s 18-year-old Jameson Z. Gibbs.

Gibbs is a black male, standing 6’ tall, weighing 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

If you see Gibbs, don’t approach him because he should be considered armed and dangerous. You should call 911 or Marion Police at 618-993-2124.
