MT. VERNON, IL — David M. Lister (Former Owner of WDML 106.9 FM in Southern Illinois) has sold his autographed guitar drumhead collection to Rob’s Good Times Grill in Lihue, Hawaii. Rob Silverman donated $15,000 to Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to buy the collection for his sports bar.
“Rob Silverman is a great restaurateur and gives back to the community”, said Lister.
The collection started back in 1998 with a signature from Paul Rogers at Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. From there, Lister was able to get signatures from 20 artists in four states. Highlights include BB King, Eric Clapton, Sting, Morris Day & the Time, Elwood Blues (AKA Dan Aykroyd), Counting Crows just to name a few.
Lister gave special thanks to Bob Jackson, Jessie Raya, Angie Brown, Tom Okeef, Stephen McCord and countless road managers that helped him get the signatures. Also, thanks to Duane Flota, John Dodd, Vic Cusumano, Milano Metals for helping facilitate the packing and shipping. Southwest cargo shipping for their affordable, professional and courteous service got some praise from Lister as well.
“I spent over 20 years amassing this collection and all artists were told it will be for a local charity. Cedarhurst does so much for Southern Illinois. I am a Counselor Emeritus and it’s special for me to do this for their fine institution.” Lister said. (Cedarhurst.org)
You can see the collection on display in the coming months at Rob’s Good Times Grill in Lihue on Rice Street, Hawaii on the island of Kauai.
