SALEM, IL — The City of Salem is gearing up for a festive Christmas weekend, starting this evening with a Christmas Carnival at the Salem Community Activity Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy free meals, games, crafts hosted by Keep Salem Beautiful, and face painting. The holiday fun continues on Saturday with Christmas on Broadway in the 100 block of South Broadway. Activities include food trucks, a hot chocolate and s’mores station at the ABC pub, and movies like Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman. Santa will arrive at 3:45 tomorrow afternoon for pictures and a toy giveaway at Sweney Corner.
