JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL — A historic barn dating back to the late 1800s was destroyed in a fire early Sunday morning at the Bernard Morris property on East Liberty Road in Jefferson County. Firefighters arrived to find the structure already engulfed in flames, with the roof collapsing. The barn and its contents, including a tractor, side-by-side, lawn mower, and older vehicles, were all lost. While the cause is still under investigation, the fire is believed to be electrical in nature.
