SALEM, IL — A Salem man has pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from a 2020 incident involving a foster child in his care. In exchange, a more serious charge of predatory criminal sexual assault was dropped. 34-year-old Jerry Summers was sentenced to four years of probation, ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation, and fined over $4,000. He is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors and must have no contact with the victim or their family.
