As an avid St Louis Cardinal fan, he never missed a game on TV and knew all the players and their stats. Another one of his passions was playing Bridge. Vernon Community College in 1967. He then went on to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL and received a BS in Accounting in 1969 with honors. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi a professional business fraternity. After working in St Louis for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co, he returned home to Mt Vernon in 1970 to work for Wayne L Krehbiel & Co and later became partner of the firm.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents Stanton M. and Rosella C. Fowler, his grandparents, many aunts, uncles and one cousin. He is survived by his sister Elaine Kay Pigg and husband Alan of Marietta, Georgia; Two nieces, Alison Kay Wheeler (Matthew) from Inverness, Florida; and Ashley Carroll Crutchfield (Roswell) of Woodstock, Georgia; Two great nephews Luke and Nicholas Wheeler and one great niece Audrey Crutchfield.
