JEFFERSON COUNTY — An 18-year-old Texas man wanted for a criminal sex charge in Texas has been arrested in Mt. Vernon for a theft charge.

Authorities made contact with David Hubler and arrested him without incident on a charge of felony theft between $500 and $10,000.

The arrest stems from an incident January 2nd regarding a family member who was a resident of Nature Trail Health Care Center that had a credit card that was allegedly taken by Hubler.

It was also discovered during the investigation on Hubler that there was a warrant for his arrest out of Bexar County, Texas for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child between the ages of 13 and 17.

Hubler has a $25,000 bond set on the Jefferson County charge and a $75,000 bond for the Bexar County, Texas charge. Hubler was transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center awaiting his first court appearance and possible extradition.
