CLAY COUNTY — The Flora Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in locating a person of interest who was seen leaving the scene of a double fatality crash Thursday morning.
According to reports, the crash occured just before 6 a.m. Thursday at the corner of North Stanford and U.S. Route 50, east of Flora.
The person of interest was described as an African-American male, wearing a red ball cap and black T-shirt.
At this time it is unknown if the person is connected to the crash as no direct information has tied this person to the fatality crash at this time.
The Flora Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search of the area and no subject was located.
They advise people to be cautious on social media posts and with misinformation. Authorities say there have been several rumors and incorrect details posted on Facebook, all of which hold only a very small percentage of accuracy and an enormous amount of conjecture and/or completely wrong information.
