JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 21-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was arrested early Thursday morning on drug charges when members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a search warrant at 1702 Forest Avenue in Mt. Vernon.

Chasity Robinson remains in the Jefferson County Justice Center awaiting the setting of bail on charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, and possession of ammunition without a FOID card.
An investigation by the MVPD/JCSO Narcotics Divisions, with the assistance of the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s office indicated that controlled substances were being sold from the residence and led to the search warrant being issued.
After the residence was secured a search was conducted by Narcotics Division Detectives and led to the discovery of narcotics, drug equipment and ammunition.
The investigation is on-going and more arrests are anticipated.
