MARION COUNTY — Charges were dismissed Wednesday in Marion County court against a 27-year-old Mt. Vernon man who was one of 10 people arrested last summer in a drug-related warrant sweep across Centralia.

Therion T. A. Johnson

Therion Johnson, reportedly a member of the Danville street gang RudeBoys, was arrested in June 2017 on a Marion County warrant charging him with two counts Class 2 felony delivery of controlled substances.

The sweep brought in 10 people that day the result of an eight month joint operation between Centralia PD and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office targeting the sale of heroin and methamphetamine in the community.

Johnson’s bail was initially set at $30,000 but was later reduced to $15,000. He was released later that month after posting $1,500 cash bond. He had pleaded not guilty in the case and had demanded a jury trial.

He was sentenced Wednesday in a 2015 traffic case to 1 year probation after his 2-year probation for driving while license suspended was revoked. He was also ordered to complete drug and alcohol treatment as well as pay $842 in fines and fees, to be paid by the remaining bond in the drug sweep case.

A 2017 case against Johnson for criminal trespass to state owned or operated land was also dismissed in court Wednesday.
