FAIRFIELD, Ill. — A crash Thursday morning between a car and an ambulance in Fairfield resulted in the driver of the car and an EMT in the ambulance suffering injuries.

The 94-year-old driver of the car, Bob Watson, reportedly collided around 9 a.m. Thursday with a Wayne County ambulance responding to an emergency.

The impact of the crash caused Watson’s driver’s door to be jammed, as were the back doors of the ambulance.

To free Watson from his car, the EMT reportedly broke out a window of the vehicle and suffered cuts and lacerations to her hand and arm. She was treated at the scene.

Watson was not seriously injured.
