NASHVILLE, Ill. — The Nashville Fire Department responded early Wednesday morning to a report of a fire at a home in rural Nashville.

According to authorities, the call came in around 1:30 a.m. for a fire in the garage of a home in the 18-thousand block of Posen Road.

The fire ultimately spread to the attic of the home, causing smoke and water damage throughout the residence.

The Nashville Fire Department was at the scene for roughly 3 hours, with assistance from the Ashley Fire Department. The Wednesday morning fire is being investigated by the Illinois Fire Marshal..
