MARION COUNTY — A 40-year-old Dieterich woman was arrested Friday in connection with a high-speed pursuit through Sandoval and Central City.
Just before 11 a.m. Friday, a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy reportedly attempted to stop a tan or gold Oldsmobile Alero for alleged reckless driving near U.S. Highways 50 and 51 for alleged reckless driving. However, rather than stopping the female driver reportedly turned south onto U.S. 51 and sped away.

The vehicle continued southbound through Sandoval and when entering Central City drove south on northbound lanes, eventually turning off onto a side road. She took police around Lions Park before returning to Highway 51 and heading back north toward Sandoval.
Speeds throughout the pursuit reached 100 mph multiple times. The vehicle was finally stopped on Highway 51 near Fairman Road just north of Sandoval.
Carla Segarra was reportedly the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. She was arrested and taken into custody on a charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding police. Other charges could be filed based on the outcome of an ongoing investigation. Segarra remains in the Marion County Jail.
