OKAWVILLE, Ill. — Okawville police are investigating a possible bomb found in a truck Monday night.

Residents were evacuated from South Sparta Street to FA bomb squad was requested.

A person picking up scrap metal reportedly found a device while going through the scrap that they thought might be a pipe bomb.

They notified the police who then called the bomb squad. The K-9 alerted that there was explosive material present and the device was taken away.

Investigators are working to determine whether the suspected pipe bomb is live or not. No other details have been released.
