FAYETTE COUNTY — One person was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Fayette County.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred around 10 p.m. Sunday on westbound I-70 near Brownstown.

ISP reports the driver of an SUV lost control of their vehicle and collided with a pickup truck. The impact caused the SUV to roll over several times before coming to a stop in the median.

The driver of the SUV was airlifted from the scene to a Springfield hospital where they died from their injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.
