FAYETTE COUNTY — All parties have confirmed a Monday, June 17, trial date for a 48-year-old Vandalia man facing multiple sex offense charges.
Robert Willenborg is charged in Fayette County Court with five Class 1 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a person under the age of 18 over whom he held a position of trust and three counts Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault of a victim between the ages of 13 and 17 under his supervision.
Court records say Willenborg’s family owns a large dairy operation southwest of Vandalia. It’s there where he allegedly committed various sexual acts with two juvenile females on multiple occasions between August 1, 2022, and January 1, 2023.
One of the five counts of sexual abuse claims Willenborg used a machine normally used on the dairy cows in a sexual manner on one of the alleged victims.
Six months after his March 2023 arrest, Willenborg was released from the Fayette County Jail under special conditions under the newly enacted SAFE-T Act.
Jury selection in the case is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. June 17.
