CENTRALIA, IL — A Centralia man was charged Tuesday in Marion County Court in regard to a shots fired incident the morning before on Monday.
The Centralia Police Department says 42-year-old Dennis Parks is charged, among other things, with firing a weapon outside the home where his children were staying. CPD arrived on scene at 10am Monday because of a call from a female resident at a home in the 600 block of Gragg Street that someone was banging on her door, and she heard at least one gunshot. Police would then deploy a K9 Unit who would find two loaded guns in the area where Parks was eventually found near Rasback and Sycamore streets.
Parks was officially charged Tuesday with reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was released and told by the courts to not possess a firearm or other dangerous weapons and to have no contact with the victim or go to her residence. A preliminary hearing for Parks was set for September 3rd.
