CENTRALIA — A 51-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison on drug and weapons charges.

Craig Allen Heitkamp was sentenced Friday to 87 months in prison for possession of pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture meth and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of firearms.

Federal prosecutors say Heitkamp would pay cash or trade meth for pseudoephedrine pills that he would then use to make more of the drug.

In addition to his prison term, Heitkamp was also sentenced to one year supervised release, a $500 fine, and required to forfeit certain firearms.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team, the Centralia Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Mt. Vernon Police Department.
