CLINTON COUNTY — A Monday afternoon car crash on Jolliff Bridge Road resulted in multiple occupants being airlifted from the scene for injuries they suffered.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, seven people were injured in the crash when around 3:30 p.m. Monday, a vehicle driven by 37-year-old William Snell, of Douglas, Wyoming went out of control and became airborne on Jolliff Bridge Road.
The Snell vehicle then reportedly landing back on the road, but he again lost control, veered into the northbound lane, and then ran off the east side of the road where he struck an embankment.
The car spun around and overturned, with all seven occupants being ejected from the vehicle, including five children.
Of the five children in the vehicle, three were airlifted from the scene to St. Louis area hospitals for treatment. According to the sheriff’s department, four of the children were from Sandoval and ranged in age from 1-year-old to 5-years-old. The other child was a 16-year-old male from Wyoming.
Snell, and 31-year-old passenger Tara Hopkins, of Sandoval, along with two other juveniles were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and traffic citations may be issued.
